Meet Our Sorority
"LUCKY TO BE ALPHA PHI"
is a phrase you'll hear often if you hang around Alpha Phis at Colorado School of Mines. Here at Mines Alpha Phi, we have found our home, and there's no place we'd rather be. From football games and socials to getting coffee and late nights at the library, our shared experiences have allowed us to grow closer together. We have formed a unique sisterhood of women at one of the best engineering schools in the nation, rooted in our common values and strengthened by the relationships we have built with each other. We are so lucky to be Alpha Phi, and even luckier to be Mines Alpha Phi.
Alpha Phi International Fraternity was founded at Syracuse University in 1872 as one of the first Greek societies for women. Alpha Phi is dedicated to promoting sisterhood, cultivating leadership, encouraging intellectual curiosity and advocating service. The organization is comprised of more than 160 collegiate chapters and 150 alumnae chapters throughout the United States and Canada.
Our chapter at Colorado School of Mines was founded in 2000. It is one of four sororities on campus and is a part of the Colorado School of Mines Panhellenic Council. We have over 100 active members and about 20 of our members live in house.
As an organization, we value sisterhood that lasts a lifetime, the common bond of scholarship, service performed hand in hand and heart to heart, pioneering leadership, the bond of loyalty, and high expectations for character development.

Our Values
"SISTERHOOD IS THE ESSENCE OF ALL THE WISDOM OF THE AGES, DISTILLED INTO A SINGLE WORD. YOU CANNOT SEE SISTERHOOD, NEITHER CAN YOU HEAR IT NOR TASTE IT. BUT YOU CAN FEEL IT A HUNDRED TIMES A DAY. IT IS A PAT ON THE BACK, A SMILE OF ENCOURAGEMENT. IT'S SOMEONE TO SHARE WITH, TO CELEBRATE YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS."
